EDUCATOR MEET AND GREET @ GENCON 2024!

Our first gathering in 2015 was a great success! It's high time for a second one!

Hello everyone! We are Tori and Joe, two professors (one of us is also a Director of a Teaching for Learning Center) and co-authors who study using games for play, and we’re throwing a meet-and-greet at Gencon for teachers and game designers to chat about the wonder that is EDUCATIONAL GAMES.

Unlike Trade Day, this event will hold NO PRESENTATIONS. We only have one goal: to meet people doing interesting work with games in education!

We’ll even run a fun icebreaker to help us do just that. Let’s lead each other towards innovative ideas, educational games to try, and project collaborations. There will be several educational games there, and you can bring your own.

(Not sure what the Gencon Games Convention is? Click here to find out.)

Title: Educator and Game Designer Meet & Greet

Date and Time: Thursday @ 8-9pm

Event Number: #ZED24ND253579

Room: To be announced.

JOIN THE EMAIL LIST

This is completely optional, but quite useful if you'd like hear about our educational games events in major cities (like the CUNY Games Conference!), online presentations by us, and new resources or games we’ve created for you. It's announcement-only and no more than 4 emails a year; see the sign-up link at the bottom of this page: https://www.joebisz.com/allureofplay/

BRING YOUR DICE/STUFF

Well we don’t really need your dice, but feel free to bring flyers, business cards, etc. to leave on our information table. (Yay information!) Remember that the focus is on educational games at all levels. If you have a subject-specific educational game to show, bring those too (but keep in mind the room is mostly open floor space so you may need to show it on a chair/floor/in your arms, unless you write us below). If you like posters as a medium to show off your work, feel free to bring your finished poster and some strong tape to put it on a wall. But there is no pressure to bring anything (except a pen!), since there will be enough to look at and people to talk to.

Special Tables for Advertisers: We have a select few *TABLES* for people/companies that would like to advertise their educational games or game design programs. First come, first serve. Email us for more info.

Advertise this Event: The more, the merrier! You can help us if you like by simply sending this page link to interested Gen Con attendees.

Note: This event is not affiliated with Gencon’s Trade Day.
